Action Description

Our world-class, dual airport system consisting of Detroit Metropolitan and Willow Run airports offers businesses and travelers the connectivity and capacity to access the global market. Our state of the art airport infrastructure, shorter flight distances to international destinations, and our connectivity to other airports puts travelers only one stop or less from every major city on the globe.

The Detroit Region Aerotropolis is strategically located along the North American trade corridor, centrally located between Toronto and Chicago, and only minutes from the Canadian border. All modes of transportation (air, sea, rail and highway) can be accessed within a ten-mile radius, making the region an ideal hub for logistics. Our region boasts a strong manufacturing expertise, skilled employee base, and world renowned universities. These assets, coupled with attractively priced available space for development and collaborative governmental partners, provides an ideal business environment for new and expanding companies.

The Aerotropolis vision, along with the continued rebirth of the City of Detroit, will be the catalyst for significant new investment throughout Michigan. To advance development of the region, Wayne and Washtenaw counties along with seven local governments and various private supporters have partnered to form the Detroit Region Aerotropolis Development Corporation. The mission of the Development Corporation is to enhance the environment for business activity, market and develop the area, and coordinate planning and development processes to better serve businesses and citizens.
